Assembled BUR membrane consist of alternate layers of asphalt and reinforcement felts, and a surface material.
The reflectivity of built-up roofs depends on the surfacing material, with Gravel the most common used.
• Modified Bitumen – is a polymer reinforced membrane that is manufactured into a roll material.
• SBS (Styrene Butadiene Styrene) — are constructed using base plies, interply sheets, and capped with modified bitumen sheet.
Hot or Cold applied bitumen is used to adhere the plies and sheets together.
